Based in Tawau, Hjh Ruhayah Hj Yunus is a highly respected figure known for her strong leadership, entrepreneurial vision, and dedication to community development. She currently serves as the Executive Chairman of Tawau Carparks Sdn. Bhd, the only known parking management company in Malaysia to be founded and led by a woman, a distinction that sets her apart in a competitive industry.

A Tawau native, Ruhayah’s deep connection to her hometown has shaped her path. Her career began in the public sector, where she served with dedication for 19 years, including a significant tenure at the Institute of Banking for seven years, followed by service in various government departments until 2001. These early roles gave her insight into organizational leadership and public engagement.

Her commitment to civic service continued through her involvement in PKR Dun Tanjung Batu from 2004 to 2007, where she contributed to political and social outreach efforts in the community.

In 2008, Ruhayah transitioned into entrepreneurship. Her leadership of Tawau Carparks Sdn. Bhd. reflects not only her strategic mindset but also her ability to identify essential services and deliver them efficiently. The company has grown under her guidance, becoming an essential part of Tawau’s urban infrastructure and creating employment opportunities in the process.

She is the Chairwoman of Persatuan Muslimah Tijarah Sabah (PERMATA TIJARAH) and Vice President of the Malay Association Tawau (PKMT), where she helps lead initiatives in business networking, cultural preservation, and community outreach.

She also serves as the Treasurer for USIA Tawau’s Women’s Division and sits on the Board of Koperasi Indahjaya Tawau Bhd (KOJAYA), contributing her expertise in cooperative development and finance.

Expanding her entrepreneurial pursuits, Ruhayah also runs Mama’s Recipe @ Rumah Kueh, a business specializing in traditional frozen delicacies that blend heritage with modern convenience.
